Toby Spitz has been in the legal search profession since 1979. She founded a predecessor firm, Corporate Counsel Search, in 1984, and remained its President until she changed the name and expanded the company in 1996.

Toby Spitz Associates provides a targeted approach to the search process through three specialty divisions: the In-House Group, IP Group, and Law Firm Group. Each recruiter is knowledgeable in a particular area of the law and the industries and law firms that have needs for those specialties.
